    Implenia again receives Gold status from EcoVadis

    Implenia has again been awarded Gold level certification by EcoVadis in 2023. This puts the Opfikon-based construction and real estate company in the top 5 per cent of all companies assessed by EcoVadis for sustainability worldwide for the second year in a row, Implenia explains in a statement.According to her, EcoVadis is the largest provider of sustainability rankings and has assessed more than 100,000 companies from over 175 countriesm worldwide for sustainability.

    “The renewed gold rating from EcoVadis confirms our commitment to sustainability,” Anita Eckardt is quoted as saying in the release. The Chair of Implenia’s Sustainability Committee is pleased to see her company among the industry leaders. “More and more public and private clients are attaching importance to a good EcoVadis rating when awarding projects,” explains Eckardt. “Especially in the areas of environment and labour and human rights, our standards, our Health & Safety processes and our Code of Conduct were again rated very well.” In the area of ethics, Implenia had improved further compared to the previous year through internal awareness-raising for compliance and transparent reporting.

    Implenia aims to achieve twelve sustainability targets it has set itself by 2025. According to its Sustainability Report 2022 published in April, the company is well on track to do so.

Die Bewertung spiegelt die Qualität des Nachhaltigkeitsmanagements wider und zeigt auf, zu welchen Themen bereits Richtlinien, Massnahmen und eine Berichterstattung über Kennzahlen etabliert sind.     EcoVadis ist der weltweit grösste Anbieter von Nachhaltigkeitsratings und hat bereits über 90 000 Unternehmen bewertet. Die Methodik beruht auf internationalen Nachhaltigkeitsstandards und wird von einem wissenschaftlichen Gremium von Experten überwacht.

    According to a message on Facebook, the Dietiker construction company Walo Bertschinger AG has been awarded bronze certification in the sustainability ranking of the international independent agency EcoVadis . The company received the bronze award in its very first application. According to the statement, the certification is a motivation for further improvement in the area of sustainability.

    Walo, headquartered in Dietikon, operates internationally and is a fourth-generation family business. According to the company’s website , Walo has been combining consistency and innovation for 105 years. The Walo Group employs 2,450 people at 21 locations in three countries.

    EcoVadis evaluates the sustainability performance of companies in the areas of environment, working conditions, procurement and ethics. According to the announcement, over 90,000 companies have already been assessed.

    The Implenia construction group was the first construction and engineering company to receive the highest possible rating for sustainability. The New York-based financial services provider MSCI ESG Research, which is primarily active in investment banking, raised its rating from AA to AAA. MSCI ESG Research provides research, assessment and analysis of companies’ ESG (Environment, Social, Government) performance.

    “For us, the MSCI ESG rating AAA is further confirmation that we live sustainability, one of our five corporate values, successfully in everyday life and for the benefit of our customers,” CEO André Wyss is quoted as saying in a press release . “We not only develop and build sustainable areas in Switzerland and Germany, for example the 2000 watt-certified Lokstadt in Winterthur, but also support our customers in the planning and implementation of all questions relating to sustainable real estate and infrastructure.”

    In its announcement, Implenia refers to the recognition of its commitment to sustainability through other positive external evaluations. Among other things, Ecovadis awarded the group silver status. In addition, Sustainalytics classified Implenia as the industry leader in 2020 with a “high 84 points”.
