  • Pictet de Rochemont Campus

    Pictet de Rochemont Campus

The PAV project extends over three central districts of the city and covers 230 hectares – an area roughly equivalent to the distance between Bürkliplatz and Letten in Zurich. By 2050, 12,400 homes and 6,200 jobs are expected to be created. Construction of Pictet’s new headquarters will begin in autumn 2021, with opening planned for 2025. The new building will house 2,500 workstations and 100 residential units.

    Innovative and sustainable design
Pictet’s new headquarters will be built to the most modern standards. The project’s “Feng Shui” design emphasises the link with nature, with elements such as water, air, light and greenery. The building will have 23 floors, including a panoramic restaurant terrace and vast green spaces. A public park and the release of the Drize river are also part of the project.

    Environmentally-friendlyconstruction
A key aspect of the project is respect for the environment. The building will be designed to minimise energy consumption and maximise the use of renewable energy. An innovative approach is also being taken to soil disposal. 80.a total of 1,000 m³ of soil will be transported by train to significantly reduce the carbon footprint.

Integration and development of the neighbourhood
The PAV project aims to transform the area’s industrial past into a vibrant mixed-use neighbourhood. In addition to new housing and jobs, the project will create numerous green spaces and meeting areas.
Commitment to the city of Geneva
Renaud de Planta, senior partner at the private bank, emphasises that the new campus is a clear declaration of commitment to the city of Geneva. Despite competition from financial centres such as London and New York, Geneva remains Pictet’s central location. The people of Geneva also contributed to the decision to locate here through their political decisions.

    Looking to the future
With the completion of the Pictet Campus in Rochemont, Geneva will not only have a new architectural landmark, but also an important working and living centre in the heart of the city. The project is a symbol of forward-looking urban development that emphasises sustainability and modernity, and will improve the quality of life of Geneva’s residents and workers.

  • Three cantons unite rehabilitation planning

    Three cantons unite rehabilitation planning

Wüest Partner receives Great Place to Work certification

“We are very pleased about the Great Place to Work certification. Commitment, mutual appreciation and trust have always been part of our corporate culture. The award reflects our ongoing commitment to a strong workplace culture in which our employees can develop their full potential,” says Patrik Schmid, CEO at Wüest Partner.

The Great Place to Work certification is based on the Trust IndexTM, a standardised and internationally recognised survey instrument. Between June 2022 and the beginning of July 2023, Wüest Partner employees in Germany and Switzerland were surveyed on 60 statements regarding workplace culture. The topics of the survey included trust in managers, team spirit, appreciation, respect and identification with the company. The final evaluation is based on the Trust IndexTM score, which is calculated from the average agreement with all standardised Trust IndexTM statements.

Wüest Partner Germany achieved an impressive Trust IndexTM score of 79 per cent, Wüest Partner Switzerland even 86 per cent. These excellent results underline Wüest Partner’s commitment to creating a positive and trusting working environment in which employees feel valued and supported.

In a highly competitive labour market, it is important to position ourselves as an attractive employer and to set ourselves up optimally for the future. • The Binding Prize for Biodiversity 2022 goes to Stadtgrün Bern

The Binding Prize for Biodiversity 2022 goes to Stadtgrün Bern

Out of 22 projects submitted, Stadtgrün Bern’s “Nature needs the city” project won the Binding Prize for Biodiversity, which is endowed with CHF 100,000 and is being awarded for the second time. The project, which was organized as a theme year, was so successful because Stadtgrün Bern and its nature and ecology department came up with a fresh and attractive campaign package

institutions, organizations and people for a common goal – the promotion of biodiversity.

    Everyone pitched in
In addition to several municipal authorities, the Natural History Museum, the Bern Zoo, the Botanical Gardens, a wide variety of organizations, but also many private balcony gardeners and garden owners took part. The measures included ecological upgrades in public spaces and private areas as well as over 50 events such as guided tours, exhibitions and concerts.

From knowledge to action for private individuals
Seven city walks with 80 information boards, combined with an interactive city map and supplemented by artistic interventions, showed what valuable urban nature looks like. The "Biodiversity Garden" and "Biodiversity Balcony" campaigns encouraged private individuals to redesign their gardens and balconies. "KlimaBalkon" showed how biodiversity, improvement of the local climate and quality of life are related. A practical handbook provided the necessary background knowledge. "We are delighted to be able to award 'Nature needs the city' to a project that has managed to reach a broad population with a systemic and integral approach," says Peter Lehmann, Vice President of the award jury.

Desealing and ecological upgrading of urban areas
Another important part of the project was upgrading the public space. In Bern West, various asphalt surfaces were broken up and planted with native flora. Among other things, amphibian ponds were built, lawns were upgraded to meadows, wild hedges were planted, borders were left standing and heaps of stones and branches were created in parks and on green strips along roads.

    Lasting effect
"Nature needs the city" was an integral and inspiring part of the overarching biodiversity concept of the city of Bern and brought many stakeholders into contact with ideas and partners. The project will therefore have a lasting effect beyond the theme year 2021. The "Berner Biodiversity Handbook" published for the theme year is already considered a standard work with an impact far beyond Bern.

Great joy at the city of Bern
The city of Bern is extremely pleased about the important award. "The award recognizes the great commitment of Stadtgrün Bern for the theme year, which has set a lot in motion for natural diversity in Bern," says Marieke Kruit, municipal councilor and director of civil engineering, transport and urban greenery for the city of Bern.

  • Allreal focuses on western Switzerland

    Allreal focuses on western Switzerland

According to a media release, the real estate company Allreal is acquiring individual companies from Immosynergies Holding Sàrl , based in Cointrin GE. According to a press release, almost all of the properties taken over are in prime locations in the canton of Geneva. There is also a portfolio of development projects in the cantons of Geneva and Vaud. Allreal is thus significantly expanding its involvement in western Switzerland.

According to the announcement, the package taken over by founder and owner Olivier Plan from Immosynergies Holding Sàrl includes investment properties of around CHF 500 million and additional development properties of around CHF 210 million, which have a potential investment volume of more than CHF 700 million. Allreal also buys the general contractor belonging to the group of companies. All 45 employees will be taken over. The net purchase price of the entire transaction is given as around CHF 400 million.

Half of the net purchase price is to be paid in cash and half in Allreal shares. As a result, Olivier Plan, who is 100 percent owner of Immosynergies Holding Sàrl, will be one of Allreal's largest shareholders after the transaction is complete.

The Board of Directors of Allreal Holding AG intends to carry out a capital increase from the authorized capital while excluding subscription rights for the previous shareholders. It is planned to issue up to 650,000 new Allreal shares, which corresponds to an increase in the existing share capital of 4.1 percent.

As a result of the transaction, the total market value of the Allreal investment properties will rise to around CHF 5.1 billion.
