House of Winterthur seeks new managing director

Since taking office in August 2020, Roth has significantly developed the organisation with fresh approaches and an increased presence on social media. Under his leadership, House of Winterthur has established itself as a dynamic regional networking platform that sets the tone with innovative event formats such as tech lunches, the Smart Health series and House cultural evenings. Roth’s commitment to expanding digital communication channels has also significantly increased visibility and engagement for the Winterthur region.

The search for Roth’s successor is being led by a specially established nomination committee, which has the challenging task of finding a person who will continue Roth’s successful work and lead House of Winterthur into the future. Beat Schwab, President of House of Winterthur, recognises Roth as a visionary and committed leader whose work has sparked enthusiasm for the region in many people.

With Roth’s imminent departure, House of Winterthur is not only losing an innovative designer, but also a managing director who has made a significant contribution to the modernisation and success of the location marketing organisation. At the same time, the forthcoming replacement offers the opportunity to build on the solid foundations and actively shape the future of House of Winterthur.

Outlook with the Innovation Park in Dübendorf

Mr Thöny, where does the structural development stand?
We are currently in development stage 1, the peripheral zone of the airfield site, where we are meeting the space requirements of our research partners ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich as well as initial users from business and industry. In addition, there are test and meeting areas as well as flexible and temporary facilities in front of the hangars. At the same time, we are working intensively on the development and planning of stage 2, i.e. the first stage of new buildings.

How will the Innovation Park become an inspiring place for researchers?
We are working on the vision of this “research city of the future”. When you enter the Innovation Park Zurich in the near future, you will immediately feel and see that this is an exceptional place for research and development. We are creating a unique environment for researchers. The companies and research partners will have the opportunity to bring their employees into a context that otherwise only very large tech companies like Apple can offer. At the same time, the historical heritage, the former military airfield, remains recognisable as such and can be experienced.
We see the Innovation Park as a “Cognitive City”, a digitally highly networked urban space with outstanding and sustainable architecture and landscape architecture and an attractive range of different campus uses that will grow over the years, where people can work, do research, meet and exchange ideas, eat and drink, relax and do sports. In other words, a place with a high quality of stay and life, where the focus is always on people. At the same time, a new, diverse range of services, leisure and recreation facilities is being created for the population of the surrounding communities and the entire region.

What is the next milestone on the way to realising this vision?
Last year we launched an architectural competition in which renowned national and international offices as well as three up-and-coming firms participated. From the 28 designs submitted, we will select seven projects together with a jury, which will then be developed as part of the first major new building phase. In the second half of the year we will be able to show a concrete picture of the future Innovation Park site for the first time.

New premises are being built on the site.
What does the development & realisation phase look like?

We are working on an “Industrial Hub” with ETH Zurich and a “Space Hub” with the University of Zurich. Both are very exciting projects and in themselves “small innovation parks” in the Innovation Park. In addition, various smaller buildings and projects are being planned for the start and the first tenants.

  • Swiss Proptech: Launch of Immowise, the very first digital solution to support co-owner meetings

Swiss Proptech: Launch of Immowise, the very first digital solution to support co-owner meetings

The solution was developed to meet market expectations and to facilitate the preparation, implementation and follow-up of general meetings of condominiums in Switzerland. It takes into account the specifics of each condominium and thus offers a digital tool that is suitable for both the administrators and the co-owners. All steps are optimized, regardless of whether the general assembly is being held in person or remotely, so that during the meeting you can concentrate on the exchange, advice and decision-making.

A 100% Swiss platform, adapted to the specifics of Switzerland
Immowise was developed by wise.swiss and is the first platform that was created for the digitization of general meetings of condominium owners on the Swiss real estate market. It is aimed at all institutions or persons entrusted with the administration and organization of owners’ meetings, regardless of whether they are real estate companies, independent administrators, self-governing owner associations or housing associations.

The digital tool adapts to the specifics of each co-ownership. It enables the administrator to manage all phases of general meetings on the platform: management of invitations, creation and updating of the agenda, calculation and determination of the quorum, recording of notes and comments, recording of voting results and surveys. It is also possible to create digital protocols that are directly accessible on the platform.

“Our solution aims to reduce the time required for the preparation, implementation and follow-up of general meetings by 20 to 30% while at the same time ensuring data security. The initial feedback from our customers has been very positive, both for remote use and for remote use on site
confirms the usefulness of such a solution, “says Gilles von Burg, Director of Immowise.

Digitization of the processes so that the managing directors can concentrate on the advice and the exchange with the floor owners at the GV
Digitization not only saves time, it also makes it possible to provide the co-owners with all the information they need to take decisions in the owners’ meeting.

Condominium owners can securely connect to the platform from their computer, tablet or smartphone and access all information about their building’s general meetings. This contributes to an optimal preparation of the general assembly for all participants.

The administrator can thus fully fulfill his role as chairman of the meeting, focus on communication between those involved and optimize decision-making.

“With the various solutions from wise.swiss, we are already supporting the digitization of companies and we have several real estate companies among our customers. The concept of a specific platform for managing general meetings was born in 2019 at your request, the pandemic drove the development forward, and so do we are pleased to be able to offer you a tailor-made, one hundred percent Swiss solution today, “adds Sebastian Chiappero, CEO of wise.swiss.

    The Immowise Terms of Use
Immowise is available in two different offers: one-time use of the platform for the organization of a general meeting or an annual subscription for the complete digital management of the real estate portfolio.
