From mid-July 2025, iNovitas from Baden will be mapping the streets in the district of Horgen. The company is creating a three-dimensional digital image of the public road network, according to a press release. The data obtained from the model is intended to form a basis for the areas of administration, utilities management and planning. The digital image reduces the time and effort required for inspection trips and inspections and should therefore provide an efficient organisation for maintenance and planning directly from the office.
The municipal and cantonal roads of Adliswil, Kilchberg, Langnau am Albis, Rüschlikon, Thalwil and Oberrieden will be digitised. With the handover of the chairmanship from Andreas Ingold to Michel Molinari, SVIT Switzerland has completed a significant generational change. Molinari, previously Vice President and CEO of BLKB Fund Management AG, is thus assuming responsibility for an association with over 2,600 members. At the same time, Cécile Berger-Meyer and David Zumsteg were elected to the presidency. The 13th edition of the Swiss real estate trade fair for investors, which took place on 15 and 16 January 2025 in Hall 622 in Zurich Oerlikon, exceeded all expectations. With a record attendance of 5,167 trade visitors and 154 exhibitors, IMMO25 confirmed its leading role as the most important trade fair for the property and finance sector in Switzerland.

According to a press release,Evaarist is launching a grid platform “for the democratisation of energy self-sufficiency”. The Sion-based start-up wants to enable more owners of existing solar installations to consume more of their solar production themselves. In addition to the autarcie.ch platform for controlling solar power from the roof, Evaarist also offers easy-to-install battery packs.
“Energy self-sufficiency is something that is close to our hearts,” says Loïc Viret. He founded Evaarist 2023 with Julien Morard and Stéphane Curchod. The engineering firm specialises in renewable energies and energy self-sufficiency and launched the autarcie.ch platform as part of the Espace Innothèque at the Foire du Valais 2024, according to the press release.
Evaarist’s considerations were based on the observation that almost 98 per cent of the 240,000 or so existing solar installations in Switzerland are not equipped with batteries. Evaarist offers universal battery systems for solar roofs. A battery pack is installed in parallel with the electricity grid, the solar modules and the existing inverters. “This will make it possible to store and work with additional energy. And above all, the degree of self-sufficiency can be increased to 65 to 85 per cent, compared to 20 to 30 per cent without batteries,” Viret is quoted as saying.
Furthermore, Evaarist wants to bring the material directly from the manufacturer to the customer and the installation will largely be carried out as a “do it yourself” project. Thanks to an agreement with a German importer, autarcie.ch offers battery packs from CHF 5800 for 10 kilowatt hours.
Autarcie.ch is not an anti-blackout system. “But our systems can be equipped to work if the grid fails,” Viret is quoted as saying.

Mit dem Ziel, die Wohnungsknappheit in Zürich zu bekämpfen, hat Foxstone kürzlich ein neues Crowdlending-Angebot vorgestellt. Das Projekt, mit einer Laufzeit von 24 Monaten, wird die Entwicklung von über 90 neuen Studios im Zentrum von Zürich unterstützen. Diese Initiative soll bis zu hundert Mietern hochwertigen Wohnraum bieten und stellt eine direkte Reaktion auf die niedrige Leerstandsquote in der Region dar.
Das Unternehmen, das bereits eine Community von über 21.000 Mitgliedern versammelt, bietet Investitionsmöglichkeiten ab CHF 10.000 an. Swissbau will take place from 16 to 19 January 2024 in the halls of Messe Basel, which will offer 85,000 square metres of exhibition space this year. Many companies in Lucerne are suffering from a shortage of labour and skilled workers. The Lucerne Economic Development Agency expects competition between locations to further fuel this shortage due to demographic change. It has therefore launched the platform workinlucerne.com, according to a press release. Its aim is to recruit labour and skilled workers for companies in the economic area both in Switzerland and abroad.
The platform lists reasons that speak in favour of the canton of Lucerne as a place to work and live. These include the high quality of life, security and stability, but also the dynamism of the economic area. Unemployment is low and job prospects are high. The platform also provides practical information on what interested parties need to work in the region, from diploma recognition to access to the labour market, from the cost of living to social security.

The tourism and catering industries are particularly aware of the labour shortage. “Work in Lucerne will bring new employees to the Lucerne region,” Raymond Hunziker is quoted as saying. “This will enable us to continue to welcome and inspire many guests in the future,” says the Head of Catering at SGV subsidiaryTavolago and co-initiator of the project.
Credit Exchange AG has gained two new shareholders, PostFinance and GLKB, according to a press release. The two banks will also sit on the company’s board of directors. Mobiliar and Swisscom from Berne, Vaudoise Insurance from Lausanne and Bank Avera from Wetzikon ZH are already represented on the board. Mobiliar and Vaudoise Versicherungen will also participate in the current capital increase.
The new shareholders want to help expand the mortgage marketplace CredEx. To this end, PostFinance will also contribute its comparison and closing platform Valuu to CredEx. Zug-based building materials giant Holcim has launched an internal digital platform for recycling construction waste. According to a media release, this is intended to efficiently distribute, process, shred and assemble demolition materials into new construction solutions. The platform, called ECOCycle, is designed to help in the transition of construction to circularity.
This will reportedly allow Holcim to recycle 100 per cent of its construction waste. For example, decarbonised raw materials are reused in low-carbon cement formulations. Aggregates can be reused in concrete and fillers in road construction.
“With our ECOCycle technology, we can build cities from cities by recycling 100 per cent of demolition materials for new solutions, so everything is reused and nothing is lost,” Holcim CEO Jan Jenisch is quoted as saying in the media release. Recyclable construction is imperative in the face of a growing world population and urbanisation.
Holcim is currently building a residential complex in the UK that is half made of ECOCycle granulate. This granulate in turn consists entirely of recycled demolition material. In France, a residential complex is being built for which Holcim is using exclusively recycled concrete. And in Switzerland, the company offers a cement that consists of one-fifth old construction waste.
Luucy AG, with locations in Lucerne and Schlieren, has launched a new generation of its platform of the same name. Luucy 2.6 is now also available in French, the young company informs in a corresponding press release. In addition, the new version features expanded keyboard navigation and simpler control. In addition, relevant data sets for spatial and real estate development are made available. Luucy kicks off with relevant data sets from the Canton of Lucerne.

Zühlke, the innovation service provider from Schlierem, is working with experts from Gebäudeversicherung Bern(GVB Group) to further develop digital processes within the company. According to the media release, GVB already has a digital claims process co-developed by Zühlke, the processing of claims. Now, further customer interfaces and processes are to be digitized, such as damage inspection, it continues. In addition, the functions of the existing platform are to be expanded and increasingly integrated.
Digital damage inspection decisively reduces the manual effort, according to the press release. The majority of cases are now handled via the enhanced platform, he said. This leads to increased satisfaction on the part of the end customer. The app will be continuously improved step by step after the first launch. Customer suggestions serve as a central guideline in this process.
The joint team of specialists from the GVB Group and Zühlke first conducts a preliminary technology evaluation study and develops prototypes using Flutter, a development kit from Google. A Flutter program should be able to run on different target platforms without major adaptations.
An initial MVP, the first stage of a development for practical use, will be implemented as quickly as possible, step by step and close to the target group, Zühlke says.
