    Solarify GmbH is further expanding its range of investment opportunities for private investors in the energy transition. According to a press release, the Wabern-based company now offers crowdfunding for a new generation of solar power plants connected to battery storage systems. These enable solar power to be delivered at a later time.

    Solarify.ch is thus also responding to a change in the remuneration of solar power. In future, feed-in tariffs will be based on hourly rates. In addition, market prices will be recalculated on a quarterly basis. The storage facilities allow for a flexible response to prices.

    The company is already using solar systems with battery storage, for example at the Tannental asylum accommodation in the municipality of Muri near Bern and on the roof of Condecta AG in Bern.

    “With this new generation, we can operate solar systems in a way that benefits the grid and the system,” CEO Roger Langenegger is quoted as saying in the press release. “Instead of putting strain on the grids at midday, the electricity is consumed locally or sold at times of higher demand.”

    Solarify.ch enables private individuals to invest in the energy transition. Founded in 2016, the company has implemented 160 solar projects throughout Switzerland and invested 26 million Swiss francs.

    Dhp technology , based in Zizers, wants to raise fresh funds from investors for further growth. To this end, the manufacturer of the folding solar roof called Horizon is now starting a swarm financing campaign, according to a media release . The goal is between 1 million and 3 million francs. The minimum investment is estimated at 120 francs. The campaign is expected to last until the end of January 2022. It will be carried out on the platform of the Zug-based provider Conda.ch .

    With the solar folding roof from dhp, solar modules are retracted and extended on a cable construction. The control takes place automatically and is based on the weather data. For example, the system can protect itself from a storm.

    According to dhp, the roof is particularly suitable for sewage treatment plants. There are 800 of these in Switzerland and around 80,000 in Europe. In addition, Horizon can be used in park, commercial and logistics areas. The company estimates the economic potential in Europe at around 60 billion euros.

    The solar folding roofs have been manufactured in a factory in Zizers since 2019. Twelve dhp systems are currently in operation. The next ones are already waiting for delivery.

This type of crowd financing enables the construction of new systems, for example on school roofs. According to a press release , ewz is offering a total of 4,000 square meters of new space for this purpose.

    Of this, 1,100 square meters of photovoltaic area are now available on the Falletsche municipal school building in Leimbach. The Rebhügel school buildings in Wiedikon, Kolbenacker in Seebach and Mattenhof in Schwamendingen will go online in the course of the year. A maximum of ten square meters of participation at CHF 250 per household can be purchased on the Internet. In return, customers receive 80 kilowatt hours of sustainably produced solar power from Zurich per square meter of participation credited to their electricity bills.

    The last square meters of participation are still available for the first large-scale high-alpine solar system in Switzerland, which has already been completed on the ewz dam in Graubünden's Bergell. Because the yield is more than twice as high as in the Unterland, both the participation price and the credit are higher there.

Methanology aims to bring its technology to market maturity within three years. For the appropriate development of the prototypes, the young company now has a campaign for swarm financing launched.
