According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ekz.ch\/ekz\/de\/ueber-ekz\/medien\/medien\/medienmitteilungen\/gruendung-waerme-thalwil.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>, the company is the result of a collaboration between the municipality of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thalwil.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thalwil<\/a> and Elektrizit&auml;tswerke des Kantons Z&uuml;rich<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ekz.ch\/de\/privatkunden.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(EKZ<\/a>). Thalwil holds a 49 per cent stake in the new company and EKZ holds 51 per cent. The foundation was preceded by a referendum in September 2024, in which 79.8 per cent of voters voted in favour of the new company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">&ldquo;By founding W&auml;rme Thalwil AG, we are sending a clear signal in favour of a resource-conserving and climate-friendly heat supply in our municipality,&rdquo; said Andy Fellmann, municipal engineer of Thalwil, in the press release. &ldquo;In addition, the collaboration between the municipality and EKZ allows synergies to be utilised and the existing infrastructure to be developed efficiently.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Martin Nicklas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of W&auml;rme Thalwil AG and Head of Energy Solutions and Energy <span class=\"glossaryLink\" aria-describedby=\"tt\" data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Contracting&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;Gesamt&uuml;bernahme von Projektierung, Erstellung, Betrieb, Unterhalt und Finanzierung eines Bau- oder Anlageteils durch einen Unternehmer und dessen Zurverf&uuml;gungstellung gegen Entgelt (z.B.
