ImmoScout24<\/span><\/a> introduces a press release<\/a> on the current ImmoScout24<\/span> Purchase Index by stating that the trend towards home ownership is continuing. It is compiled monthly by the property marketplace, which belongs to SMG Swiss Marketplace<\/a>GroupAG<\/a>, in collaboration with IAZI<\/a>, a consultancy specialising in real estate<\/span>. The current purchase index for May shows an increase in prices compared to April for both condominiums and single-family homes.<\/p>\n

At 0.8 per cent, prices for owner-occupied flats rose much more sharply across Switzerland than prices for single-family homes (0.3 per cent). However, the experts have identified significant differences within the individual regions. “The choice is currently particularly large in the Lake Geneva region<\/span>,” Martin Waeber, Managing Director Real Estate<\/span> at SMG Swiss Marketplace Group, is quoted as saying in the press release. “By contrast, supply is tightest in the greater Zurich region, one of the three most populous areas in Switzerland.”<\/p>\n

In the greater Zurich region, prices for single-family homes have risen particularly sharply by 3.9 per cent month-on-month. Eastern Switzerland is at the other end of the scale. Here, prices fell by 2.1 per cent compared to April. Eastern Switzerland, on the other hand, led the way with a 2.7 per cent increase in condominiums. The Mittelland brought up the rear here with a fall of 0.7 per cent.<\/p>\n
