The NIDO project envisages a building in timber construction with flats accessed by an arcade.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">&ldquo;Equipped with modern building technology such as a geothermal probe with heat pump and a photovoltaic system, this progressive wooden building will be a forward-looking home for people who are concerned about sustainable living,&rdquo; Steiner says. According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nido-ostermundigen.ch\/projekt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">project description<\/a>, the flats have balconies and terraces facing west. The flats on the ground floor each have a garden area.
