According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hkbb.ch\/de\/standortpolitik\/energie-und-umwelt\/Region_Basel_wird_Wasserstoff_Hub_der_Schweiz.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">press release<\/a>, green hydrogen is to be produced using solar, water and wind energy and distributed throughout Switzerland. This should support the goal of making Switzerland climate-neutral.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">&ldquo;The EU has been driving forward the development of a hydrogen economy for years,&rdquo; said Dirk Mulzer, COO of Industrielle Werke Basel<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iwb.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(IWB<\/a>), in the press release. &ldquo;Funding programmes have already been initiated throughout Europe. Switzerland must not miss the boat.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">In February 2024, IWB, the petrol station operator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fmag.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fritz Meyer AG\/AVIA<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getec.swiss\/de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GETEC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/port-of-switzerland.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Port of Switzerland<\/a>, the energy company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.varoenergy.com\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VARO<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hkbb.ch\/de\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Basel Chamber of Commerce<\/a> therefore founded the H2-HUB Switzerland association in Basel.
