Blockchain ist allgemein formuliert eine dezentrale verteilte Datenbank. Die Blockchain-Technologie könnte zum Beispiel den gesamten Sektor der Verkaufs- und Leasingtransaktionen in gewerblichen Immobilien verbessern. Es könnte sich auch um eine digitale Version der vom Grundbuchamt bereitgestellten Daten handeln. Im April 2019 schlossen zwei Unternehmen – Elea Labs und die Swiss Crypto Tokens AG – den ersten Immobilienverkauf in der Schweiz über Blockchain ab, weitere sollen folgen.
