The two electricity supply companies EWZ and EKZ in Zurich have launched a joint training and communication campaign to combat the shortage of skilled electricians. The focus is on the targeted training of lateral entrants in order to ensure security of supply in the city and canton.

The final audit report from the Federal Office for Spatial Development on the "Schaffhausen 4th Generation Agglomeration Programme" confirms that the Schaffhausen region has significantly improved its overall transport system, with a focus on the modernisation of public transport and the promotion of electromobility. Schaffhausen benefits from a funding quota of 35%, which corresponds to CHF 27 million in federal funding.

The annual siren test will be carried out throughout Switzerland on 5 February 2025. Around 5000 sirens will be tested to ensure they are working properly. At the same time, an Alertswiss information message will be sent out to test the warning system. The Federal Office for Civil Protection recommends that the public take this opportunity to check their personal preparedness.
